The most expensive car insurance premium areas in UK and how to avoid the rising costs.

Car insurance is always a big part of any motorist’s annual expenses. But some areas of the UK are more expensive than others. If you live in certain areas of Britain, scouting out the best deals for your premium is even more important, so you can avoid paying big money for your vehicle.

If you live in East London, the cost of a fully comprehensive insurance policy has actually gone down by a surprising 15% in the third quarter of 2018.

However, despite this significant decrease, this is still the most expensive location in the UK to insure your car.

The average cost here is about £930, which is much larger than the UK average, which as of the third quarter of 2018 is £483. This is because the average premium across the UK has fallen by 13% from its original £553.

Across the UK, the biggest price decrease has been in Chelmsford, where the average premium has gone down 18% from its previous £516. Motorists in the Isle of Man, where the average cost is £285.

However, even with the recent decreases, these lower premium prices are still higher than those of five years ago. Average premiums have in fact increased 17% from £411 in the third quarter of 2013.

This research also suggests that you could save up to £276 by switching your car insurance policy. If you live in East London, or another expensive area of the UK, switching is a great way to save some cash on your raising premium costs.
